The above Instagram videos offer glimpses of our Design + Art + Nature Tours through the eyes of Manitoga visitors: 1) in Fall 2024, Nino Ferrari-Mathis @ninosbuildings generated excitement with over 1 million views and 280,000 interactions; and 2) Kate Chen @katezchen beautifully captured our 2025 installation “All the Light and Shadow” in partnership with neighboring River Valley Arts Collective featuring fine and functional objects by eight artists working in fiber, wood and clay.

Visit MANITOGA, the House, Studio and Woodland Garden of pioneer industrial designer Russel Wright (1904-1976) and his family. Experience Dragon Rock, Wright's experimental home which he built onto the rock ledge of an abandoned quarry while orchestrating the surrounding landscape into a series of outdoor rooms of varying character and delight.

Visitors follow the upper Quarry path to enjoy stunning views of the Quarry Pool, House and Studio. An ascending stone stair leads to a mountain laurel grove and the exquisite moss rooms before visitors cross a majestic waterfall over a wood plank bridge. Dragon Rock House and Studio, an outstanding example of organic modern architecture ca 1961, comes into view. Interiors are defined by expanses of glass, innovative materials use, and seamless connections to outside terraces. Guests are invited to explore the Russel & Mary Wright Design Gallery, a permanent display of the Wrights’ ground breaking designs for the American home at Manitoga.
